The Paduka of ‘Shripad Shree Vallabh’ will arrive from Andhra Pradesh and will be in the State from February 20 to 23, with functions scheduled to take place in Sankhali, Margao and Vasco.
"The Paduka of Shripad Shree Vallabh will arrive in Goa from his birthplace at Pithapuram in Andhra Pradesh,” said Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, while addressing a news conference in the presence of members of Shripad Paduka Darshan Utsav Samiti.
“The Paduka along with the Palkhi will be welcomed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at Sankhali on February 20 and this Palkhi will be in Goa for the next three days. The Palkhi and Paduka will be in Sankhali (February 21), Margao (February 22) and Vasco (February 23).”
“This is for the first time that the Paduka will be moving across Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat," said Salkar.
Salkar said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet, Union Minister Shripad Naik, ministers and MLA will be attending the functions organised during the three days at different locations.
"The Paduka will arrive outside the Damodar Temple at 4 pm on February 22 and Minister Mauvin Godinho, NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar, and all MLAs of Mormugao taluka will be present on the occasion. We will have a huge Dindi Procession with Dhol Tasha in Vasco and the Palkhi will move to Datta Temple in Orulem. We will have arti in the temple at 8.30 pm.”
“On February 23, we will have Rudra Abhishek of the Paduka at 9 and which will be attended by Union Minister Shripad Naik, followed by Arti and Mahaprasad after which the Palkhi and Paduka will leave from Vasco," said Salkar.
