Goa University Elections: BJP Panel Elected Unopposed
The state BJP backed panel was on Monday elected unopposed to the Goa University Students Council. Urvesh Umesh Redkar Velingkar became the chairman of the council while Nishikar Pundalik Raut Desai was elected to the post of secretary and Shambhavi Krishnaprasad Gadgil became ladies representative. Sandesh Galaya Palconda, Dattaprasad Vinod Desai, Joseph Sebastiao Lobo, Krishna Atmaram Gawas, Sumedh Athalye, and Balkrishna Thali were elected as members.

The unopposed election of the BJP panel led to protest from other student organisations. Cadres of the NSUI, NSC, CYSS, Vidyarthi Sena, and Jana Sena Students Force protested at the Administrative block of the University demanding scrapping of the elections.
