JNV PTA demands filling of 10 vacant post of teachers, full-time principal

The parents-teachers association of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Valpoi has demanded that the school management immediately fill in the vacant posts of 10 teachers and a full-time principal.

A memorandum in this regard has been submitted on behalf of the PTA of JNV to the District Collector and the government.

Currently, the management of the school has decided to start the academic year for Std IX, X, XI and  XII in the last week of September. However, the PTA has decided not to send their children to school until the vacancies are filled.

JNV Valpoi is short of 10 out of the 22 teachers. Over the last one year, the PTA has been repeatedly demanding the appointment of new teachers, but the management has failed to do so. This is having an adverse effect on the educational future of the school, the PTA said.

The principal of the school was replaced almost a year ago and a new principal has not yet been appointed to replace him.

“Repeated demands were made in this regard. However, it was completely ignored,” said Subodh Desai of the PTA while talking to the news persons.

“Currently, the management intends to start the school classes in the last week of September. But due to the shortage of teachers, the children will have to face educational loss.”

Desai further said that in an important meeting held before the Deputy Commissioner of management of JNV in 2019, it was promised to solve the problems of the school at the educational level.

“He had promised a full-time principal for the school and appointment of shortage of teachers immediately. However, it has not been fulfilled yet,” said Desai.
