The initiative of facilitating Unified Payment Interface (UPI), by the government is in fact a milestone for Indian nationals as far as cross-border digital payments are concerned. However, UPI was installed by National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) in 2016. It's a long journey though for the said UPI to gain momentum, and furthermore go global. As we are aware that online payments are quite easier and faster. Moreover, it can be done with great ease and care. Earlier this month France had permitted Indian tourists to buy tickets via UPI mechanism in the iconic Eiffel Tower. In addition, the launch of UPI services in Mauritius/Sri Lanka/Singapore and Nepal for Indian nationals is strengthening the bond of bilateral economic ties among several countries. Fostering digital connectivity and taking advantage of advanced technology, UPI and Rupay services were also launched in UAE on Tuesday. Everything is just at the click of your finger.
