Beef vigilantism could affect tourism, harm local economy

This ugly episode keeps happening in Goa whereby beef has been cut off from dining tables around this time of the year, previously being  in 2017. Goa being a wonder destination for holiday makers at this time of the year , actions by prowling vigilantes will definitely cause a dent in  more tourist arrivals. The government should intervene and set this trade free from direct threats, injunctions, lynchings, complete stoppage of supply and consumption of beef causing harm to the  traders and beef lovers. Such deeds are seen regularly happening in the north  of the country.  Minorities suffer at the hands of these gau rakshaks , who seek total ban on beef. This may cause the local economy sliding to mediocre levels . Unemployment will cause social evils to rise  by such vigilantism taking it even higher. Such activism by vigilante groups should be nipped in the bud, and steady supply of beef should be restored to previous levels. Instead these vigilantes should keep a vigil on stray cattle squatting on streets, some scavenging on garbage dumps, etc creating utter nuisance to the motoring  public .
