The exposition of sacred relics of St Francis Xavier for veneration was a great success spiritually and was well organised.The government has supported the infrastructure, roads, safety measures, facilities for veneration, pilgrim village. etc. The volunteers deserve praise for their valuable sacrifices. Nevertheless government collects huge offerings but never openly discloses the revenue accrued. The flawless well planned arrangements in every respect came in for praise from international, national and local devotees. Physically disabled and the aged had excellent facilities.The special buggy and music ensemble added glory to the event. The attendance by 8 million visitors is the sign of deep reverence, faith and devotion to the saint. The veneration of the sacred relics was not confined to a particular faith but people of different faiths too participated making it an interfaith occasion. The outburst by a fanatic were ignored by the government. People protesting against criminal, offensive remarks are charge sheeted but the frustrated madman went scot free for spreading communal tension. May the grace of St Francis enlighten the offender and bless him to be in good health to witness the next decennial exposition of St Francis Xavier's sacred remains.
