With reference to Arwin Mesquita's very apt letter titled "Goa as tourist destination has lot to learn from Dubai" in The Goan Everyday dated December 25 , 2024, the vigilantes' hypocrisy lies in the fact that when they go abroad they eat beef and continue to eat it quietly when they return and use cow leather products. If they are so concerned about cows' welfare then they should not let stray and abandoned cows roam on the road and forage for food from dustbins. So the solution lies in making mandatory inter-community living courses and home economics' courses and drawing important and useful lessons from Portuguse rule like honesty, discipline, hard work and respect for the law. This will help keep Goa on the right path and promote national unity by helping everybody to think of all citizens as one people and thereby the nation is safeguarded from annexation and wars to help it move forwards and not backwards.
