Goa is known for its scenic beauty, sand and beaches. But on other hand we have land for development of property and sell the same to those who can afford to buy at the price offered. The land can be developed in orchid or in hills. The land cutting has been continuing for last so many years and at Narve , Poriem the hill cutting has been taking place with a road already passing through it. The minister for TCP has announced fine upto Rs 25 lakh for such hill cutting activities but what about past hill cuttings where the land is already converted into plots and buildings. The minister has announced now and only future hill cutting will be fined so those who have already cut hills will not be fined. The hill cutting has many other effects which will cause damage to structures built and since the mud is soft the chances of landslides are more like Wayanad in Kerala. If one has to save lives and hills then hill cutting should be banned to prevent situation like Wayanad in monsoon season.
