The Bhutani mega project seems to be having many BJP politicians coming out to pass the buck or make lame excuses. Each one says Bhutani does not have permissions so then why is the roject not immediately revoked and how come the Home Ministry under Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is offering police protection to the bouncers employed by Bhutani? Now the BJP President Sadanand Tanavade has weighed in with an excuse that issues like Bhutani will not come up if locals don't sell land; the latter excuse I have been hearing from so many Goan politicians for so many years and it clearly falls flat. So is the BJP president saying that if a local sells land, then it grants the right to the ruling politicians to ignore environmental laws like hill cutting, land filling etc? Why is the BJP so eager to bring in the IPB legislation which will practically force people to part with land and override any opposition by local bodies? Then you have the BJP govt regularly coming up with legislations to take over properties of individuals who die without legal heirs! Why is the Goa Govt so eager to grab land?
