The horrific rape at RG Kar Hospital shocked the nation and surely there are severe lapses in the hospital management and overall West Bengal Government governance; and it’s fair to ask for the guilty to be punished / made accountable. However with the BJP jumping into it makes me one question their intentions towards addressing this sickening rape menace which is not only in West Bengal but also in many other states in India (including many BJP ruled states). It appears to me that their primary objective is only just to score political points and overthrow a opposition party ruled state. There are horrific instances of rape in many BJP ruled states including Bilkis Bano, Unnao, Manipur and there also also quite a few cases were there are BJP ministers at centre/state who have been involved. So what credibility does BJP have to challenge the Bengal government. Also why has the central BJP govt slept for so many years on putting out a strict anti-rape legislation including changes in its governance on the issue? I request BJP party to first clean its own backyard.
