Those who drink and drive don’t seem to understand the consequences of their actions once they are overtaken by alcohol. Yes, some drink to drown their sorrows.
There are others who drink to find happiness, but they need to adhere to a certain limit. Perhaps counselling could help to a certain extent. Chronic drunkards, of course, should be sent to Alcoholics Anonymous in order to redeem themselves. They all need to understand that every life is precious. A quote comes to mind: “Being sober behind the wheel is the greatest way to care for others.”
