Eco-friendly celebrations of Chaturthi

RONNIE D'SOUZA, Chandor | SEPTEMBER 06, 2024, 12:01 AM IST

Ganesh Chaturthi is just a day away and is the most popular festival in Goa. It is really hurting and disrespectful to see that after the festival the Ganesha idols are taken out from the sea shores and rivers with the help of JCB machine to help clean the environment.  The Lord Ganesha festival should be made eco-friendly by opting for clay or natural materials to create the Ganesha idols. These idols dissolve harmlessly in water preventing pollution of water bodies. Natural decoration is must so surroundings will be decorated with flowers, leaves and reusable materials instead of plastic and synthetic decorations. Let's keep our mother earth free from air and water bodies' pollution which affects the health of human beings. Ganapati bappa morya!
