It always starts with small illegal structures

It's disheartening to see local leaders, like sarpanchs, involved in construction of several illegal structures as reported in Arambol. And especially when they're supposed to uphold the law and maintain order. It's crucial to recognize that corruption and lack of accountability at a local level, can invite exploiters,  who are big players from outside the state. Much like how "internal demons" can invite "external demons", as seen in the case of the controversial Bhutani project. Fortunately we are tackling the illegal structures in Arambol in a right way and similarly we need to do so for Bhutani type mega-projects, so that we create a more peaceful and environmentally friendly Goa.
