Police have arrested Arun Prasath Ganesan, a native of Tamil Nadu, and seized ganja worth ₹1,09,600 from him. The suspect was posing as a photographer along the Goa coast but was actually selling ganja. He is currently in judicial custody. Earlier, Margao police had arrested Om Prakash, a youth from Uttar Pradesh, and seized ganja worth ₹30,400. Cases of marijuana sales are on the rise in Goa. While police take action, the quantities seized are minimal. Locals claim marijuana is easily accessible in many areas, yet police fail to reach those areas. Cannabis addiction is escalating in Goa, with even school students falling prey. Foreign nationals, including citizens of Japan and Germany, have also been arrested in connection with these activities.
