The Aquem comunidade has strongly objected to the moves to regularize illegal structures and the rehabilitation of the slum dwellers at the migrant-inhabited Moti Dongor at Margao. The issue is sub judice with legal proceedings ongoing in the high court.  The  Margao MLA Digambar Kamat assured the residents who are his vote Bank that as long as he is there no one will dare to raze down even one structure at Moti Dongor. This attitude shows that the ruling BJP government allows outsiders to build houses on any property and get their approval. The MLA openly supporting this illegal activity shows that the outsiders are more important than the Goans and such politicians win the election at the cost of slum areas. This is the main reason why Margao  has turned into slum area and day after day turning worse. To protect dwellings at Moti Dongor hill the people are staying there  and their houses in and around Margao are given on rent. The Moti Dongor people have government jobs and businesses but the niz Goenkars are taken for granted by the government of Goa and the politicians.
