For me, the current Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai holds the lowest credibility and respect, as I see him more toeing line of the ruling BJP party and allowing the current Goa BJP government to do as they wish, with regards to excessive corruption and massive sale/destruction of Goa’s scarce but pristine environment. I must acknowledge the statement that he made which should be common knowledge i.e. the percentage of Christians has reduced in Goa. I think that many will agree with me that Goan identity really stands out as exceptional in India with the blend of Hindu, Christian and Muslim identity... and should the Christians become irrelevant, this in my view will be a huge blow to Goa and will also impact in a big way the other Goan communities. We can make a lot of excuses and play the blame game, no doubt the Goa government is also responsible, but nevertheless the bottom line is the buck stops with Goans. I think, we know what we have to do and what we don’t have to do; in order to preserve Goa’s unique identity for posterity.
