Goa is promoting concrete jungle. Goa was called Rome of east because of its greenery and beaches to provide oasis of clean air but now we are destroying the greenery by cutting 100-year-old trees and even rampant cutting of hills which act as reservoirs for people's wells down the hills and olden people used the wells during summer. Now in the name of development, we are destroying the traditional heritage which needs to be protected. Clean air is a fundamental birthright of every person . It is incorrect to blame solely on development and progress for the deterioration of air quality. The responsibility lies with each one of us to take proactive steps towards towards ensuring clean air.The government promotes greenery and cleanliness by growing gardens and collecting the garbage which is accumulating in villages and cities and causes unhygienic foul smell. Consequently different diseases keep showing their ugly heads despite efforts by panchayats and municipalities. By embracing sustainable farming practices, we can transform our lifestyles to create a healthier environment.
