Untoward incidents happen as shacks don't have 'right' staff

Attacks on tourists in shacks are rather unfortunate. Let's hope that sanity prevails in the future.  The RTO advises motorists to wear helmets on all roads while driving. Likewise visitors to beach shacks could be well advised to wear helmets for their own safety. Most hotels follow a non-stick policy at least when it comes to frying pans. It appears now that some hotels in Goa follow a carrot and stick approach. That is usually the norm followed by the management of companies or in schools. Untoward incidents happen because shacks do not employ staff having the 'right skill set'. Migrants are hired because they come cheap and are willing to comply. They often lack soft skills however. Shortly before Covid, I visited an iconic cafe at Margao and ordered a coffee with the migrant waiter. He told me I couldn't get a 'copy' as there was no Xerox machine. After explaining what a coffee was to him, he went to the kitchen doorway and shouted out loudly for a 'copy.' This I suppose is the reason why Goans succeed all over the world, except in Goa.
