For Goa, the core issues remain unresolved. The vision of a Swayampurna Goa, as championed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, appears to be a distant aspiration. Unemployment in Goa has reached critical levelS that has left the youth feeling hopeless and uncertain about their future prospects. The people seems to be in conflict with the government in Goa. The scams that involved jobs-for-cash, land rule changes, and others have come to light. Poor road infrastructure also plays a role. People are feeling helpless with an insensitive government refusing to listen to their plight or woes. When people keep voting for politicians regardless of their tainted character and pathetic performance with no credible expectation of change, then the political leaders probably do look upon the voters as fools. Politics itself is art of fooling some of the people all the time. The politicians know their opponents are going to promise the moon so they must promise the moon and the stars to win the election. But the people hardly have a choice -- they have no option but to get fooled.
