Is the much talked about Cabinet rejig likely to take place only in the month of May? Well, this question is doing the rounds in political circles for a simple reason that BJP State President Damubab Naik and other party leaders including Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant are yet to receive a call from the High Command for a meeting in Delhi till date. And, with the BJP national leadership pre-occupied with the election of a new party president, which is expected to take place next week, sources do not rule out the possibility of the Cabinet reshuffle taking place next month. BJP chief’s 100 days: Melavas, meetings, and mobilisation
Come next Sunday and the BJP State President Damubab Naik will be completing 100 days in office after taking over the party reigns earlier this year. The BJP chief has so far had 22 Karyakarta melavas across the State, in a bid to gear up the party rank and file to face the upcoming polls, beginning with the Zilla Panchayat polls due in November this year. Many say, the BJP chief, has also handled the storm brewing over the caste census demanded by the Bhandari Samaj in his own way. Hailing from the same community, Damubab is believed to have had marathon meetings with Cabinet ministers, besides Samaj leaders to work out a solution. Any questions?

Margao Police Station will finally get a new station in-charge in PI Suraj Samant. This follows the order issued by the Goa police to shunt out Margao police station in-charge, PI Tulsidas Naik from Margao. PI Tulsidas, sources said, had received a transfer order over a year ago with the police department posting PI Ditendra Naik to Margao. For best reasons to the Police Department and the supporters of the Powers that be the transfer order was never given effect to with PI Tulsidas staying put at Margao all these months. Interesting, isn’t it?
Ex-South Goa MP Sardinha has a quiet b’day in Curtorim
It was a week when former four-time South Goa MP Francisbab Sardinha celebrated a quiet birthday with friends and well-wishers. The former Chief Minister was at his Curtorim residence as he received stream of visitors who came to wish him on his birthday. Sardinhbab has been lying low politically since last year when his claim seeking re-election from South Goa did not find favour with the Congress High Command. Has the four-time MP and former Chief Minister called it a day in politics? No, not yet, if sources are to be believed. Wait and watch.
All eyes on Kamat as family joins BJP event in Margao
Congress-turned-BJP Margao MLA Diggu’s close family members were all present at the BJP Margao Karyakarta melava held earlier this week. If son Yogirajbab was seated on the dais in the company of party leaders, comprising of CM Pramodbab Sawant and BJP State President Damubab Naik, Diggu’s wife Ashabai and daughter-in-law Nehabai were amongst the prominent faces seated in the audience. In fact, the seven-time Margao MLA apparently took personal interest in mobilising supporters and workers at the melava as evident by his message that had gone viral a day before the meeting.
