Many an eyebrow has been raised in political circles on the role played by Fisheries Minister Nilkanthbab Halarnkar and Saxtti’s lone Minister Aleixobab Sequeira in fixing the sanitation issues plaguing Cutbona fishing jetty. Political observers wondered how come CM Pramodbab Sawant has entrusted the task of cleaning up the Cutbona jetty to Aleixobab when Nilkanthbab is the Fisheries Minister. In fact, many a question did the rounds when the Fisheries Minister descended at the Cutbona jetty earlier this week when Aleixobab was taking a review meeting with senior officials over the situation at Cutbona around the same time. Interesting, isn’t it?
AAP sets its eyes on Curtorim; Roque gets on job to build party
The Aam Aadmi Party seemed to have firmly set its eyes on the Curtorim Assembly seat in minority Saxttidom. Party’s face Roquebab Mascarenhas seemed leaving no stone unturned to build the party brick by brick in Curtorim. It is believed in political circles that the party is working on an agenda in Curtorim irrespective of an alliance with the Congress. In the 2024 Lok Sabha poll, AAP had strongly rallied behind Congress’ Captain Viriatbab Fernandes under the INDI Alliance banner. With questions raised over the future of INDI Alliance, AAP seems to be going all out to strengthen its position in Curtorim to brace up for the 2027 Assembly election. Any questions?
When Cong leaders spared Kamat during protest
It was a week when Congress leaders descended in strength to stage a protest at the historic Lohia Maidan to observe the second anniversary of defections by the eight Congress turncoats. Political observers, however, are trying to figure out how many leaders made a direct attack on Congress-turned-BJP Margao MLA Diggu, who is considered by many as the architect behind the September 14 defection. As it turned out, barring MP Captain Viriatobab, who directed his tirade at Diggu, others only made general statements, leaving many a political observer to wonder what stopped the Congress leaders to go hammer and thongs against Diggu in his fiefdom. Any takers?
Mauvin or Reginaldo: Who ensured no Sunburn in South?
Who is instrumental in stopping the controversial Sunburn festival from taking place on the IDC acquired land at Quitol-Betul or at the Verna IDC – Industries Minister Mauvinbab Godinho or IDC Chairman, Reginaldbab Lourenco? Well, both Mauvinbab and Reginaldbab separately told the media that Sunburn will not take place in South Goa. Sources said Reginaldbab was believed to have conveyed to Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant not to push the festival in down South, more so at the IDC acquired land at Quittol or Verna as he had to face brickbats from political opponents. In fact, Reginaldbab has told his close aides that he worked behind the scenes against the festival coming up in South Goa. Any questions?
AAP Goa celebrates Atishi’s rise as Kejriwal’s successor
Aam Aadmi Party cadre seemed charged up over the appointment of Atishi Marlena as Arvind Kejriwal’s successor to head the party government in Delhi. For, Atishi is not new to the party rank and file in the State. In fact, it was Atishi who had traversed the length and breadth of Goa when the party was looking for a new face in Goa to succeed Elvisbab Gomes. Atishi is one leader who is closely associated with not just the leaders, but the party rank and file. A group of top AAP leaders were scheduled to head to the national capital for Atishi’s swearing-in ceremony.
