What was discussed and deliberated with AAP National convenor Arvind Kejriwal remains unknown, but the party seemed to have drawn up an agenda “Vision 2027” for Goa. Even Congress leaders may wonder what’s this “Vision 2027” which AAP leaders are talking about. Indeed, the Congress alliance partner has resolved to strengthen AAP’s organisational presence in all 40 constituencies and ensure impactful governance for Goa. In South Goa, AAP has decided to zero in on the five seats, including Curtorim, Nuvem, Navelim, Sanguem and Vasco, in addition to Velim and Benaulim. Wait and watch.
Rains drench Goa, Griha Aadhar sanctions flood Yuri’s fiefdom
It rained heavily in the State, inundating roads and entrances to government run hospitals. In Cuncolim, however, Griha Aadhar sanction orders literally rained in the constituency represented by Opposition leader Yuribab Alemao. The first-time Cuncolim MLA distributed the sanction letters to the womenfolk from across the constituency and took the platform to unveil a host of projects in the coming months, leaving friends and foes to wonder how the Leader of Opposition managed to get sanction letters and projects in Cuncolim.
Fisherman Pele goes viral again with traditional display at protest
Traditional fisherman Pele was at his innovative best this week when fishermen protested over the Malpei boats fishing in Goa’s territorial waters. To the surprise of many, Pele stripped to showcase traditional ‘Kashti’. Known for his innovative ideas, when cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar visited his Benaulim restaurant, he climbed a coconut tree to pluck tender coconut. Pele’s video had gone viral when he was heard telling ex-UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife, to take care of Goans settled in the UK. For Pele, every day is indeed a good day.
Is Vijai treading a cautious path on Sunday Dialogues?
Curtains have come down on the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, but Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai is yet to unveil his schedule to resume his Sunday Dialogues. After the Sunday Dialogue held at Curchorem in Nilesh Cabral’s fiefdom, Vijaibab had promised to hold similar programmes across the 40 constituencies. Nothing has been heard from Vijaibab so far on the Sunday Dialogue, with political observers trying to find out whether the Goa Forward chief is treading a cautious path after Curchorem Sunday Dialogue did not go down well with alliance partner Congress or is it that Vijaibab is waiting for Pitru Paksha period to end before kick starting his campaign. Wait and watch.
Venzy now demands Aleixo’s ouster over cholera outbreak
It was a sheer coincidence that ex-Environment Minister Nileshbab Cabral made an exit from the Pramodbab Sawant dispensation months after AAP MLA Venzybab Viegas publicly called for the Minister’s ouster. Venzybab returned this week to demand with Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant, to strip Minister Aleixobab Sequeira of the Environment portfolio over the cholera outbreak. There seems no love lost between the Venzy-Aleixo duo over a host of issues. The duo had traded barbs and charges at each other in the recent past. It’s interesting that Venzybab has made a plea to CM Pramodbab to do the needful. Any questions?
