Vijai’s darbars raise eyebrows in ruling, opposition camps
Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai’s janata darbars seemed to have become a talking point and have raised enough eyebrows in both the ruling and opposition camps. If sources are to be believed, ruling party leadership seemed to wonder whether Vijaibab has embarked on the exercise a la former Chief Minister, late Manoharbai Parrikar’s style of functioning. And, the Congress leadership seemed rattled with local party leaders and workers making their presence at the darbars. Wait and watch as a couple of Congress leaders were conspicuous by their presence at the Ponda darbar.
Kamat’s support for Sawant’s 2027 stint surprises experts
Since the time Congress turncoat Diggu returned back to the BJP fold on September 14, 2022, political observers insisted that the former CM will soon return to the CM’s hot seat. Many a political pundit was left baffled and surprised after they heard Diggu strongly batting for Pramodbab Sawant’s continuance as Chief Minister. That’s not all. Diggu went to the extent of saying that Pramodbab will not only lead the BJP in the 2027 election but the two time CM will return back to head the government for the third time. Strategic move? Cong betting on Capt Viriato to revive party
Call it a strategy or otherwise, the Congress seemed to have placed its bet on Captain Viriatbab Fernandes to revive party’s fortunes ahead of the 2027 electoral battle. Fresh from a comfortable mandate in down South, a section of the party seemed rooting for the Captain to launch a surgical strike to boost the morale of party rank and file. Viriatbab seemed to have not let down the party leadership, as he has kick-started the exercise of having interactions with party workers at the grassroots. Wait and watch.
Assagao saga: Will CM lift PI Prashal Desai’s suspension?
DGP Jaspal Singh has been finally shunted out of Goa. What about PI Prashal Desai, who was placed under suspension in the Assagao saga. After PI Prashal was sought to be made a scapegoat in the Assagao house demolition, the All Goa Kashtriya Maratha Samaj had come to his rescue by demanding immediate lifting of the suspension order. What has CM Pramodbab Sawant, who hails from the Maratha Samaj, got to say on the community’s demand to lift Prashal’s suspension?
