Hazard a guess over the venue of the Sunburn festival in South Goa – is it on the silvery sands of Salcete beach belt or along the picturesque Canacona coast or the plateau region of Quepem or Mormugao or in the hinterland talukas? For, the venue has found no mention in the announcement, only raising eyebrows and fuelling speculations whether the announcement is just a ploy to gauge the public pulse. Wait and watch.
Kamat takes potshots at Oppn, calls them day dreamers
Congress-turned-BJP Margao MLA Diggu was at his usual best when he took on the Opposition in his inimitable fashion at the BJP district workers meet. With the Opposition led by alliance partner-turned-foe Vijaibab Sardesai launching a no holds barred attack in recent times, Diggu took the party platform to compare the Opposition to day dreamers eyeing the Chief Minister’s hot seat. Without taking names, he compared the Opposition politician or politicians to Mungeri Lal, the popular day dreamer in the TV series. BJP leaders and workers were left to wonder who exactly was Diggu referring to in his attack. Any questions?

BJP eyes advantage in 2027 polls with road infra projects in South
Union Road Minister Nitin Gadkari’s Rs 30,000 crore promised grant to Goa to boost road infrastructure may come as a bonanza for Goemkars at large. For the BJP, however, the announcement may ring in good news, but for a different reason. With the 2027 Assembly election just two and half years away, party leadership will certainly hope that the road projects executed under the grant see light of the day before the next election. Any questions when Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant is eyeing 27 seats in the 2027 Assembly election.
