Joining the protest with a candle in his hand, Diggu listened silently to the speeches. Quiet birthday for Sawant, but loud greetings from colleagues
Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant cancelled all birthday celebrations in view of the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir. The CM’s ministerial colleagues and others, however, extended their greetings via huge hoardings along major roads and highways. Sacred and Saffron: BJP’s Goa wing mourns Pope Francis
It was a week when the saffron brigade lost no opportunity to condole the death of the Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis. At the South Goa BJP office, party leaders from South Goa all lit candles for the soul of the departed Pope. Leaders paid rich tributes to Pope Francis, describing him as a beacon of peace. The party did not stop there. The Curtorim BJP Mandal led by President Dr Snehabai Bhagwat and ST leader Anthonybab Barbosa along with party workers organised a condolence cum prayer meeting at Curtorim for the soul of the departed Pope. What does the I-league championship mean for the patron of Churchill Brothers Sports Club, Bab Churchill? An entry into the ISL football league for Goa-based family-run club, one many say. On the political front, the victory means a lot for Churchillbab and daughter Valankabai, the club’s CEO. While Churchillbab has announced plans to make a political comeback from home constituency Benaulim, Valankabai is expected to throw her hat in the election ring from Navelim in 2027.
