As Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai has set his eyes on the 2026 Margao civic polls, he will have to grapple with a simple question – how would he go about the election in the 11 Municipal wards, coming under former ally, BJP MLA Diggu’s fiefdom, Margao? In the recent past, the Vijai-Diggu duo’s Margao Civic Alliance had successfully kept the BJP at bay in the elections for the Margao Municipal Council. None other than Vijaibab knows for sure that he cannot hope to return back to power at the Margao civic body without winning a couple of seats from the Margao municipal area. Besides BJP’s big presence in both Margao and Fatorda, sources say Vijaibab will have to also contend with the Congress factor in the election. Any questions?
Will Reginaldo heed Sawant’s advice for 2027 Assembly polls?
Has Curtorim MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco anything to say on Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant’s suggestion that he should contest the 2027 Assembly election as an Independent candidate? Well, 2027 Assembly elections may be still two years away, and Reginaldbab has all the time in the world to take a final call. The CM’s suggestion, however, has become a talking point in Curtorim countryside and outside, more so after Reginaldbab made a frank admission that he had decided to quit Mamata Didi’s TMC party to contest the 2022 election as an Independent on the advice of none other than Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant. Any questions?
AAP’s Delhi mission: Goa leaders, workers to join poll campaign
Come next Sunday and leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party will all pack their bags to head to Delhi, but for a different reason. With the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled on February 5, AAP leaders and workers from Goa are all gearing up to join the party’s campaign in the national capital. If sources are to be believed, AAP leaders will be heading to Delhi in batches for the election campaign along with workers. Billed as a toughest election for Arvind Kejrival-led AAP in the national capital, AAP Goa leaders say a victory in Delhi would certainly keep the party in good stead in Goa going to the polls in 2027. Wait and watch.
Cong’s Opinion Poll Day celebration on January 14 raises questions

After many a senior leader received the invites for the programme, leaders tried to figure what prompted the organisers to observe the Day on January 14 and not on January 16. When a senior leader called up GPCC Chief Amitbab Patkar to shed light on the programme date, he too is believed to have feigned ignorance vis-à-vis the programme on January 14.
