Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda got the better of Guardian Angel SC 5-3 via tie-breaker to move to the semi-finals of the 17th All Goa Guirdolim Panchayat Cup, organised by Guirdolim Club, at Chandor Church Sports Complex.
Don Bosco could have taken the lead as early as the fifth minute had Elroy Barretto tapped in a cross from Francis Andrade from the left flank. Godwin Fernandes was the culprit for Guardian Angel as after getting past a couple of defenders his final shot on goal was weak. Don Bosco had a couple more chances but couldn't convert. Both teams were goalless at the break.
Changing over, both teams were evenly matched with Don Bosco's Francis Andrade in the 38th minute tried his luck from the distance but the Guardian Angel keeper was equal to the task and made a good save. Thereafter, Miltun Fernandes of Guardian Angel in the 43rd minute failed to capitalise on an error by the Fatorda keeper who recovered in the nick of time to push the ball out of play. Francis Andrade's curling free-kick missed the goal by a whisker in the 50th minute. The match thus ended goalless at regulation time.
In the tie-breaker, Francis, Karol, Hanslum, Mario and Velton were on target for Fatorda while Myron, Norman and Alson scored for Guardian Angel.
Karol Soares, goalkeeper of DBO Fatorda was awarded the man of the match by Felix D'Cunha, Ex-Goalkeeper of Guirdolim Club.
