Dempo Sports Club head coach Samir Naik has confirmed that his team is fully prepared for their upcoming I-League match against Inter Kashi FC at Kalyani Stadium, Bengal, on Friday.
Speaking to The Goan Everyday, Naik said: “We have a big game against Inter Kashi on Friday. It's a great opportunity for us to bounce back after recent results. We understand that the season is long, and there will be ups and downs along the way.”
Naik further added, “The team is ready for the match, and our goal is to deliver a strong performance and secure a positive result.”
Regarding Dempo's recent back-to-back defeats, Naik stated, “Losing matches, especially at home, is never easy, but the players are motivated and focused on what's ahead.”
He continued, “There is no time to dwell on the past. Now is the time to move forward with even greater confidence. We need to bounce back and secure these three crucial points if we are to stay in the title race.”
Naik emphasized the importance of the upcoming derby against Inter Kashi FC, acknowledging the challenge: “We are facing a tough match against Inter Kashi FC, which is always a highly competitive fixture. We must give our best to secure the win.”
Naik added, “After our recent defeat, we are determined to return to winning ways, collect all three points, and keep ourselves in contention for the league title. Our fans play a huge role in supporting us, and we look forward to having their backing against Inter Kashi.”
The Dempo head coach acknowledged that the match would not be easy: “We know that Inter Kashi FC is a strong team, and we’re playing on our home ground. Despite our qualification, it is an important match for us. We will stick to our plans and aim for victory,” he said.
Naik concluded, “We will enter the match with high spirits and determination to give our best. We are fully focused and committed to delivering a solid performance.”
Dempo, who have won just one of their last five games and conceded eight goals during that stretch, are hoping to get back on track after a dip in form.
Meanwhile, Dempo have bolstered their squad with the signing of Ivory Coast midfielder Didier Brossua, Nigerian midfielder Lukman Adefami, and Spanish midfielder Daniel M. However, Naik expressed concern over the potential loss of key players like Syrian Saheer Saheen, Nigerian Lukman Adefami, and Daniel M during this crucial period, as he feels it may disrupt the momentum the team had been building. These three players have played a key role in Dempo’s rise this season.
