Ananda Krishnan is no stranger to fitness challenges and has participated in Oxfam's various fundraising walkathons to support multiple causes.

This year, he was particularly drawn to the theme of the Oxfam Trailwalker which went virtual due to the pandemic. The fundraiser was dedicated this time to migrant workers whose acute distress during and after the coronavirus forced lockdown shocked and moved millions.

Ananda was no exception and is participating in the event with his Goan team, Downroad Boys. "We all have to do our bit, especially during these times to help those who have very little resources to survive this pandemic unscathed. These are our fellow citizens and their tragedy made me really determined to do something,” Ananda said.

“This challenge was a perfect opportunity and so my friends and I registered for the November edition of the walkathon. Together, as a team, we intend to complete the distance of 100 kms within the span of three to four days. We plan to walk along the coastline of South  Goa to North Goa to complete the challenge."

The new edition of Oxfam's virtual Trailwalker has started from November 20 and will end on November 29. The funds generated will not only help Oxfam India continue the ongoing COVID-19 relief work but also help run their #RightsOverProfits campaign. The campaign is demanding that the government regulate private healthcare to ensure the rights of patients and strengthen the public healthcare system in India to make affordable and quality healthcare accessible to all.
