Vasco-based Ace Soccer Academy offers training programmes for youngsters between the age of 3 to 18 years and to those who are interested in enhancing their football skills.
Head coach M M Mutawali and his group of assistant coaches teach skills that enrich children's lives and prepare them for the future, both on the field and off the field. In partnership with Karma Group, it aims to develop "good people first and good footballers second".
The philosophy of the academy is to create an environment that encourages learning and development, on and off the playing field – in good and bad times. The academy has close to 100 boys and girls of various ages and backgrounds, all united by their passion for football. In addition to footballing skills, these kids are trained to be disciplined, polite and sincere human beings.
As part of its social and community outreach programme, Karma Group is partnering the Ace Soccer Academy. Karma Group supports the academy to achieve its objectives and promotion of local football talent, providing much-needed equipment.
To begin this association, Karma Group invited the coaches and students of the academy to their flagship resort in Goa – Karma Royal Haathi Mahal, Cavelossim. The team was provided with newly designed kits and bags to kick off the new partnership. Ace Soccer Academy is an up-and-coming football coaching academy established in the port town of Vasco. The club is the brainchild of Mutawali, a former State coach, who has seen many of his students achieve fame at the national and international levels. He receives excellent support and assistance from his son, coach Umer Mutawali, an AFC-A level accredited coach. Like his father, Umer Mutawali has chosen to stay in Goa and improve football at the grassroots level along with Chandrakant Harijan, Diya Naik, Sneha Mutawali, Ajaz Khan and Durgesh Tiwari.
Goalkeeper Rakshad Rathod from the academy has joined Salgaocar FC. Ace Academy products Ojas Bhosle, Sydon Colaco, Jagdish Rathod and Ragvendra Salgaocar have also joined Salgaocar FC. Shane Fernandes, Yourag Singh from the academy joined FC Goa Juniors while Laxman has signed for Dempo Sports Club.
