Indian International Master (IM) Audi Ameya delivered outstanding performances at the recently concluded Czech Open 2024-A - Pardubice Open and the Sachovy Festival Ceske Budjovice IM 2024, securing joint first place in both tournaments.
In the Pardubice Open, Ameya, who started as the 24th seed, remained unbeaten with a remarkable score of 7.5 points out of a possible 9 rounds. His record included 6 wins and 3 draws, defeating FM Abdulrehman Mohammad Al Taher (UAE), WFM Hnatyshyn Anastasiia (UKR), FM Warchol Kamil (POL), Paseka Matyas (CZE), IM Johansson Linus (SWE), and FM Prokofiev Valentyn (UKR). He also drew with top seed GM Nisipeanu Liviu Dieter (ROU), GM Zanan Evgeny (ISR), and WIM Sochorova Petra (CZE).
Ameya finished joint first with IM Finek Vaclav (CZE) but was placed second on tiebreak, while GM Stocek Jiri (CZE) secured third place with 7 points. The tournament featured 199 players, including 107 titled players from 37 countries worldwide.
Earlier, at the Sachovy Festival Ceske Budjovice IM 2024, Ameya remained unbeaten, scoring 6 points out of 9 rounds to share first place with IM Roshka Yevgeniy (UKR). Ameya was placed second on tiebreak, with FM Marakovits Nico (AUT) taking third place.
In this tournament, Ameya defeated FM Hak David (CZE), WGM Rakshitta Ravi (India), and Otsuka Shou (Japan), and drew with GM Mirzoev Azer (AZE), IM Roshka Yevgeniy (UKR), Nagy Ladislav (CZE), FM Marakovits Nico (AUT), FM Ernt Robert (AUT), and FM Simek Petr (CZE).
