Bethany Convent, Perpetual Succour advance to semis

In a thrilling round of matches at the 25th Bro D O Slattery Memorial Inter-School Tournament, former champions Bethany Convent School and Perpetual Succour Convent School, Navelim, have secured their spots in the Group A semifinals. The tournament is hosted by Regina Mundi School, Chicalim, at the RMS ground.

Bethany Convent edged past St Jude's High School, Betalbatim, with a narrow 1-0 victory, thanks to a goal from Fredan Pereira. In a dominant performance, Perpetual Succour Convent defeated Regina Martyrum School, Assolna, with a decisive 4-0 scoreline. Ethan Carvalho, Ashnoy Vaz, Royden Carvalho, and Lisoy Gomes were the goal scorers for the Navelim team.

The tournament opened with Perpetual Succour Convent securing a 3-0 win over Our Lady of Perpetual Succour School, Cortalim. Anosh Vaz, Clydwed Fernandes, and Aryan Nevagi each found the net for Navelim.

In a closely contested match, Don Bosco High School held St Jude's High School to a 2-2 draw, but eventually lost in a penalty shootout. Ankid Kumar and Johan Braganza scored for St Jude's, while Bryan Carvalho and Mohd Ayaan were the scorers for Don Bosco.

Regina Martyrum triumphed over Fr. Agnel High School, Pilar, with a 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from Enosh Simoes and Flavian Cardozo. Bethany Convent also had a strong performance, defeating Deepvihar School, Sada, 3-0 with goals from Shannon Andrew and a brace by Frayden Pereira.

In the girls' tournament, St Andrew's Institute, Vasco, overcame St Jude's High School in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regular time. Poonam Gaude scored for St Jude's, while Navya Kamble equalized for St Andrew's. In another Group A match, Perpetual Succour Convent defeated Deepvihar High School, Sada, 3-0, with Suzanna scoring twice and Sancia adding the third goal.
