Canacona SCC defeated United Club of Verna 2-0 to clinch the title of the Navelim Villagers Union Cup, organized by the Navelim Villagers Union and held at the Rosary Church Ground in Navelim on Wednesday.
The match kept the crowd on edge as both teams battled fiercely. The goals for Canacona SCC came in the second half, with Elric Barretto and Pralhad Velip finding the back of the net. Earlier in the match, Canacona's Clifton Rebello and UC Verna's Jesloy Moniz missed key scoring opportunities.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Churchill Alemao, former Chief Minister of Goa, along with Adv. Valanka Alemao, Chairperson of the AIFF Women's Football Committee; Rev. Fr.
