Sporting Clube de Goa assistant coach Climax Lawrence expressed his happiness after emerging champions of the I-League 3 Playoffs to qualify for the Second Division I-League.
Speaking after the match, Lawrence said: “Our players played a good match and showed a great level, and I am proud of that. The match was an excellent final in all the details. My team gave a good performance throughout the tournament. I hope this will be a motivation for the rest of the season.”
Climax concluded by saying: “I am happy with the victory and the performance of all the players. We reached 7 points from two wins, one loss, and one draw. We achieved what we set out for and we will look to keep working, to get more success."
Sporting Clube boss Nathan Diego Vaz also expressed his elation following his team's title-winning campaign.
“I'm happy about the effort of the players. They (players) tried to push the opposition all the time. About the results, of course, we need to improve. We created some chances. In the first half, we missed some clear chances. The players are doing well and it is necessary to continue to work hard,” stated Vaz. "Our aim is to now get promoted to the I-League and eventually play in the Indian Super League."
