Desserts n More Avengers took a vital 2-1 lead in the 6 match Desserts n More Sarsangan Junior Cricket Test Series by defeating Geno Dragons in the 3rd Test registering a 7 wicket win at Arlem Cricket Ground.
Electing to bat first, Geno Dragons were skittled out for 139 with only Om Keny 27, Vismay Falgaonkar 37 and Sanat Prabhudesai 42 reaching double figures. Aaheesh Prabhugaonkar with 3-14 and Kush Pai Raikar with 3-19 were the notable performances for DnM Avengers with Somay Naik 2-7 and Pramay Prabhu 2-17 doing the supporting role.
In reply, Desserts n More Avengers put up an imposing 224 taking a vital 85 run 1st innings lead over the Dragons, thanks to useful contributions from Pramay Prabhu 16, Kush Pai Raikar 12, Aditya Dalal 50, Kaushal Churi 55, Somay 27 not out and Aditya Tendulkar 17. Om Keny was the standout bowler for the Geno Dragons picking 6-12 with Sahil Neurenkar 2-47 and Avinash Sakhardande 1-15 doing the supporting role.
Geno Dragons made 154/3 in the 2nd essay with Vismay Falgaonkar making 36, Atchut Naik Dalal 38 not out, skipper Ishan Hodarkar 20, Om Keny 11 and Sahil Neurenkar 22 not out. Needing 70 to win, Desserts n More Avengers reached the target with 7 wickets to spare making 73-3 with Aaheesh Prabhugaonkar making 13 and Aditya Dalal 11. Sahil Neurenkar with 2-9 and Anurag Borker with 1-11 were the successful bowlers.
The following individual prizes were awarded: Aaheesh Prabhugaonkar Man-of-the Match, Vismay Falgaonkar Best Batter and Om Keny Best Bowler. Kavita Pai Raikar, Krishnaprasad Kamat and Shantaram Prabhu Alvencar were the guests for the prize distribution ceremony in the evening.
