Mandrem MLA also plans multipurpose sports complex

Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar has stated that a first-of-its-kind indoor swimming pool along with a multipurpose sports complex will be constructed in Mandrem at a cost of about Rs 70 crore, to motivate players in Mandrem and introduce various sports activities in the area.
Arolkar announced this ambitious sports project after inspecting the Mandrem group and interacting with officials and panchayat members.
Stating that the indoor swimming pool would be the first-of-its-kind in the State, Arolkar said the temperature of water in the pool would be controlled during the summer and winter.
He informed that a blueprint of the 30-year-old sports ground available at Mandrem Panchayat area has been worked out.
“All facilities would be made available here and I have been following up the project with the State government. Sports Minister Govind Gaude also supported this project, which will soon be in the pipeline,” said Arolkar.
Mandrem constituency consists of 9 panchayats, Virnoda, Tuem, Parse, Agarwada-Chopdem, Morjim, Mandrem, Arambol, Paliem and Keri-Terekhol, but there is not a single playground which in good condition in the constituency.
The playground at Morjim is completely neglected, while the playground at Chopdem has not been maintained.
