MARGAO: Fr. Agnel Youth Sports Club of Paroda advanced to the quarterfinals of the Vaidya Family Memorial Cup Inter-Village Football Tournament, defeating Dramapur Sports Club 2-0. The match, organized by Cuncolim Union, took place at the Cuncolim School playground.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. However, in the second half, Paroda took the lead in the 36th minute when Selton Fernandes scored from a cross by Sowell Fernandes. Paroda doubled their advantage in the 59th minute, with Sowell Fernandes netting the second goal following a pass from Joel Furtado.
Despite their efforts, Dramapur couldn't find a way back into the game, though their goalkeeper was outstanding, making three crucial saves.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Dramapur's Glen Leitão by Cuncolim Union member Mario Coutinho.
