A brilliant hat-trick by Mahesh Nilkant Kuppatgiri helped Betalbatim Sporting Club cruise to a 3-1 victory over Baina Sports Club in the Goa Football Association’s U-15 Division II League at the Cansaulim Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
Betalbatim started the match on the back foot but quickly regained composure. Their explosive forward, Mahesh Kuppatgiri, unleashed a powerful volley in the 21st minute, giving them a 1-0 lead.
After the break, Betalbatim continued to dominate, pushing forward into Baina’s half. However, Baina responded swiftly as Vicky Rathod leveled the score in the 45th minute, making it 1-1.
Undeterred, Betalbatim went back on the offensive, and Mahesh Kuppatgiri put them back in the driver’s seat with his second goal in the 63rd minute. Just a minute later, Kuppatgiri completed his hat-trick with another clinical finish, sealing a 3-1 victory for his team.
In another match, Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club edged past Cortalim Gymkhana 1-0, thanks to a 9th-minute match-winner by Mark Cain Fernandes.
