Margao Sports Club secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over host team Arlem Youth Association to book their place in the semifinals of the 33rd Arlem Rolling Trophy. The match, held on Sunday at the Raia Panchayat Ground, saw a lone goal from Frazer Miranda, which proved to be the match-winner for Margao SC. Miranda was named the Man of the Match and the prize was presented by Rosbena Crista Afonso.

Vasco Veterans clinch Dubai Cup

MARGAO: Vasco Veterans secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory in a penalty shootout against Fatorda Sada Boys in the final of the Dubai Cup. After a closely contested match, the game was decided by a dramatic tie-breaker, with Vasco Veterans emerging victorious to claim the title. The team celebrated their well-deserved win, with the coaching staff and players acknowledging the determination and skill that carried them to victory.

Sub-jr girls for handball nationals

PANAJI: The Goa State Sub-Junior Girls National Handball Team is all set to participate in the 39th Sub-Junior Girls National Handball Championship, scheduled to take place in Karnataka from April 30 to May 4. The team will be captained by Christine Ferrao.

The squad was given a sendoff by their coaching and management staff, including Jane Da'Silva, SAG handball coach; Wency Gonsalves, joint secretary of the Goa Handball Association (GHA); Conceicao Fernandes, secretary of the GHA; and Mariam Bi Mulla, manager of the team. The players include Jiya Hadfadkar, Shanaly Martins, Hannah Dcosta, Amanda Dsouza, Shenaiah Baptist, Reachel Pires, Vidhi Tamankar, Christine Ferrao, Valanka Dias, Janaelia Colaso, Kimesha, Anvi Satarkar, Latisha Pangude, Kate Vaz, Pooja Rathod, and Jeanne Dsilva.

CAC Cansaulim reach quarterfinals

MARGAO: CAC Cansaulim secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Youth Club of Shiroda to advance to the quarterfinals of the 1st Late Antonio Colaco Memorial Football Tournament. The match was held at the Rosary Church Ground in Navelim on Sunday.

CAC Cansaulim dominated the early stages of the game, scoring three quick goals through Jesus D'Sa, Agnelo D'Souza, and Than. Youth Club of Shiroda responded with goals from Monzilo Pereira and Pearson Vaz, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. Rivi Rodrigues of CAC Cansaulim was named the Man of the Match for his standout performance.
