Margao Sports Club secured a 2-1 victory over Sporting Club Davorlim to advance to the quarterfinals of the 1st Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy, organized by Batora United Club in collaboration with Margao Sports Club, at the DSYA Ground in Curtorim on Tuesday.
In a fierce local rivalry, Sporting Club Davorlim took the lead with Delton Colaco's goal, holding a 1-0 advantage at halftime. However, Margao Sports Club quickly regrouped in the second half, leveling the score with Fr. Mario Noronha's equalizer. In the final quarter, Cliff Barreto netted the winning goal for Margao, securing their place in the next round.
Cliff Barreto was awarded the Man of the Match trophy by match commissioner Franky Fernandes, who presented the honor in the presence of other dignitaries.
