The Margao Cricket Club (MCC) is set to kick off the highly anticipated 10th season of its Members’ Cricket League on Thursday, November 14, with an electrifying match between the Knights and the Royals. The opening game will be played under floodlights, adding a touch of grandeur to the start of this prestigious tournament.
The league promises an action-packed season, featuring a total of 32 matches, all at the MCC ground in Margao. This year’s tournament is expected to draw cricket enthusiasts from across Goa, with each match showcasing fierce competition among the participating teams: Knights, Royals, Stallions, Masters, Tigers, Warriors, Dragons, and Legends.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm which will be graced by prominent businessman Sagar Salgaoncar and Sunil Sikand, film director and the son of legendary Indian actor Pran.
The tournament will culminate with the grand final on Sunday, December 22 at 7 pm, where the two top teams will battle it out for the championship trophy. Cricket fans can look forward to witnessing exhilarating matches, nail-biting moments, and top-notch sportsmanship throughout the season.
This season is particularly special, as Margao Cricket Club will be the first club in Goa to host matches under its own floodlights.
