International women’s footballer Michele Castana successfully completed her AFC B Licence coaching course. Castana, one of the prominent faces of Goan football, has had a remarkable career in the Indian domestic circuit.
She has represented Goa across various age groups and the senior team, while also playing for top football clubs in India. Currently, she is associated with East Bengal Blasters, having represented them in the Indian Women’s Football League.
The course was conducted by AFC instructors Shekkar Kerkar and Mariano Dias at the Sporting Clube de Goa. The AFC B Licence coaching course was divided into two parts.
Among the successful candidates, coach Abhisurya Ali Akbar Khan, Allain Joao D'Costa, Amith Chauhan, Gokul Nandakumar Panicker, Gopi Raghunath Gad, Harshad Datta Zalmi, J Monesh Jason Dmelo, Jonathan Xavier V J, Kamleshkumar Bhagvanjibhai Maradiya, Michel Margaret Castanha, Monish Ashfaque Siddique, Muzfar N M, Mohamed Navas, Nicholas Lewis Rodrigues, Parsappa Hanumappa Harijan, Sai Naga, Savio Epifanio Fernandes, Sree Higetta Radhakrishnan, Sree Bibatta Radhakrishnan, Pausuanlian Tungnung, Shaliq SM, and Vishnu Raj PR have all successfully cleared the course.
However, Gracy D'Costa, Jonas Daniel Fernandes, Joshua B, Kalaivani T, Sandeep Kumar B, Shaiza Thangmeiso, Celvin Sebastiao Fernandes, Mohan Prasanth Baskar, Siddharth Murthy, Chinakannu Subash E S, and Akhil Paspuuleti will need to reappear for the exam after four months. Shankar Annayappa has earned the Pro Pass. In total, 24 candidates passed the course, while four were unable to clear it.
