Mihir claims second Infantry Gold Cup victory


BELAGAVI

Mihir Anil Potdar, a prominent golfer from the Belagavi and Goa region, has secured his second Infantry Gold Cup title, triumphing in a recent tournament held at the Belagavi Golf Course near Club Road.

The competition drew approximately 150 golfers from the region, with Col. Mohan Naik finishing as the runner-up. Potdar previously won the prestigious trophy in 2018.

At the prize distribution ceremony held at the Meads Club, Potdar was awarded the championship trophy, a rolling trophy, a Raymond blazer, and a golf wedge. Major General Rakesh Manocha, Commandant of the Junior Leaders Wing, presented the awards. Dignitaries including Brigadier KVK Prakash, Brigadier Joydeep Mukherjee, Vivek Kamlani of Shantesha Motors Pvt Ltd, and Suresh Porwal of The Raymond Shop were also in attendance.

Potdar, director of Potdar Jewellers in Belagavi and a social activist, has a history of success in regional golf tournaments. His victory at the Maratha Gold Club in 2014 marked the beginning of his successful golfing journey.

"Winning such a prestigious championship amongst 150 top-notch and seasoned golfers is certainly an achievement," expressed an elated Potdar. "I am overwhelmed with the win and look forward to competing in and winning bigger tournaments in the future."
