Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) put up a dominating show against Dempo SC in the Dream Sports Championship Football 2025 National Finals Day 3, as they registered a big 5-0 win on Thursday.
Captain Shawn Fernandes led from the front, scoring four out of the five goals in the ongoing U-17 tournament.
The captain opened the scoring in the 12th minute, following it up with another goal in the 14th minute, to help his side take a 2-0 lead in the first half. Fernandes continued his form in the second half, adding two more goals to his tally. He completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute and then scored his fourth goal in the 68th minute. Substitute Harshal Manigandan also scored in the 71st minute.
In the second match, Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) continued their winning form as they defeated Chennai yin FC 3-0. MBSG took a 2-0 lead in the first half itself, courtesy strikes from Aditya Mondal and Prem Hansdak. Aditya scored the first goal in the 21st minute while Prem scored in the 22nd minute. Later, Thangngaisang Haokip stretched the lead to 3-0 in injury time to seal the win.
