SCC Loutolim reached the semifinals of the UCT Trophy Inter-Village 9-a-side Football Tournament, organized by United Club Telaulim, after defeating United Boys of Ambaulim 7-6 in a penalty shootout at the Government Primary School Ground, Telaulim, on Saturday.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw after full time. SCC Loutolim took a 2-0 lead at halftime with goals from Flager Moraes in the 12th minute and Semson Mascarenhas in the 26th minute. However, Ambaulim came back strong in the second half, with Sowell Fernandes pulling one back in the 34th minute, and Elite Oliveira scoring the equalizer in the 42nd minute, sending the match to penalties.
In the shootout, SCC Loutolim proved to be the better shooters. Shelford Fernandes of SCC Loutolim was named Man of the Match.
