Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, and Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, emerged victorious in their respective matches on day 13 of the of the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men Championship 2024-25.
In the first match, Shree Damodar College secured a 47-run win over Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), Verna. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Damodar College posted a total of 161/6 in their 20 overs. Om Naik's composed 59 off 60 balls and Deep Kasvankar's aggressive 52 off 41 balls were the highlights of their innings. Yash Bharne of PCCE claimed 3 wickets for 17 runs.
In response, PCCE struggled to maintain momentum and were restricted to 114/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Tanmay Shivalkar (41) and Rahul Vantamuri (21) provided some resistance. Badal Naik (2/16), Rohan Naik (1/17), and Deep Kasvankar (1/18) were the key bowlers for Damodar College.
Deep Kasvankar was awarded the best performance for his all-round contribution of 52 runs and 1 wicket.
In the second match, Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, dominated Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim, securing a massive 176-run victory. Choosing to bat first, Khandola College amassed a formidable 262/7 in 20 overs. Sarvesh Sawant (71 off 27), Rishab Phadte (69 off 39), and Snehith Panicker (64 off 30) delivered explosive batting performances. Yuniket Fal Dessai (3/44) and Yash Velip (2/47) were the wicket-takers for Cuncolim College.
Cuncolim College's batting lineup collapsed under pressure, managing only 86 runs all out in 15.4 overs. Tanish Marquis (17) was their top scorer. Snehith Panicker (3/8) and Anish Kadekar (3/14) ripped through the Cuncolim batting order.
Snehith Panicker earned the best performance award for his outstanding display, scoring 64 runs and taking 3 wickets.
