MARGAO: Union of Chinchinim Villagers delivered an emphatic performance, defeating United Club of Verna 7-0 in the Under-15 Khelo India Girls Tournament at Sinquetim Sports Complex, Navelim, on Friday.
The match began with a bang as Analee D'Costa played a brilliant long ball to a teammate, who controlled it expertly before finishing off a 1-on-1 chance in the 11th minute, giving Union of Chinchinim Villagers an early lead.
The dominant Chinchinim side doubled their lead in the 33rd minute, with Achira Fernandes finding the back of the net.
In the second half, Union of Chinchinim Villagers came out with renewed intensity, piling on the pressure against Verna’s defense. Their efforts were soon rewarded when Achira Fernandes struck again in the 37th minute to make it 3-0. Just two minutes later, Karen D'Souza sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the 39th minute.
The relentless attack continued, with Analee D'Costa adding another brace in the 58th minute. Finally, in the 61st minute, Achira Fernandes completed her hat trick, capping off a dominant 7-0 win for Union of Chinchinim Villagers.
