Speaking to the media, Mauvin Godinho said that availability of the ground would now benefit the entire taluka to develop players.

"This was the dream of Goa to have a state of art ground and I am thankful to CM Dr Pramod Sawant and Sports Minister Govind Gaude who have showed the true dynamism of Sports through this project. The development of Goa is not only restricted to road and other infrastructure but also towards sports and Goa is also privileged to be hosting the National Games," he said.

Goans have excelled in Cricket and this will be one of the best cricket ground in Goa but I request the Sports Minister Govind Gaude to ensure that the ground gets proper maintenance. I also urge Gaude to give us good groundsmen and staff for the upkeep of this ground. National Games will change the entire get up of ganes in Goa and boost a new enthusiasm in athletes as they will be able to see national heroes competing in various sports and bring about a new awakening amongst them " said Godinho

Sports Minister Govind Gaude thanked the people of Mormugao Taluka for their patience.

"The more time we take, better we can deliver and this is the exact case of this ground which is now fully ready with all facilities and amenities. This is one of the best cricket ground in the entire State and the only challenge is to mantain the ground which is not the responsibility of the sports department but of the locals and players using the ground. We don't want to stop at the National Games but also want to bring world level sports here," said Gaude.
