Coach Manolo criticizes competition schedule, Urges better support for National team

Panaji: FC Goa coach Manolo Marquez has expressed strong concerns about the current competition schedule, saying it is a "complete mess." He believes that the national team is not receiving the attention it deserves.

According to Manolo, the breaks between games are too long. After the national team finishes its last match, the Indian Super League (ISL) does not start for 6 or 7 days. However, the league stops its matches just 2 days after the national team plays. This creates a challenging situation for players.

For instance, Lebanon was unable to play in the recent schedule. Manolo pointed out that if Lebanon had played, the national team would have had to face Vietnam just three days after their last ISL game, which he believes is not normal.

Manolo highlighted the need for better planning and support for the national team to ensure that players are prepared and well-rested for important matches.
