Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda scored a solitary goal win over holders Nerul Sports Club to move into the final of 16th London Trophy inter village football tournament, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club, at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
In an exciting match, Nerul Sports Club had the first look at the Don Bosco Oratory goal when a long range effort by Deu Sangelkar was brilliantly tipped over for a corner by a diving Karol Soares in the Fatorda goal in the very first minute of play.
At the other end, Elroy Barretto of DBO blasted over from close range. Deu Sangelkar of Nerul missed glorious opportunities to put his side ahead but on both occasions headed wide from close.
Veteran prolific goalscorer Francis Andrade put Don Bosco Oratory ahead in the 22nd minute when he capitalised of a blunder from the Nerul Sports Club goalkeeper Krupesh Bandodkar and shot home. Aniket Naik of Nerul SC saw his effort put out for a corner by the Fatorda keeper Karol Soares in the 30th minute. Minguel Barretto of Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda saw his long range effort rattle the Nerul SC crossbar with Krupesh Bandodkar in the Nerul goal beaten in the 33rd minute. Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda led by a solitary goal at the break.
Royston Pereira of Nerul saw his free kick saved by Karol Soares who was kept busy in the Don Bosco Oratory goal by the Nerul strikers. Elroy Barretto shot wide with only the Nerul keeper Krupesh Bandodkar to beat after being beautifully put through by Francis Andrade in the 52nd minute.
